The Academy Awards, commonly known as The Oscars, is an annual American awards ceremony honoring achievements in the film industry. Winners are awarded the statuette, officially the Academy Award of Merit, that is much better known by its nickname Oscar. 300 Rise Of An Empire

A sequel to the 2007 movie 300, which, to this day, is the only movie live action movie that Gerard Butler has had a lead role in that has earned over $100 million at the movie box office. Of course, he does not appear in the sequel.

The Greek general Themistocles battles an invading army of Persians under the mortal-turned-god, Xerxes.
Originally entitled Xerxes, then 300: Part 2 and then 300: Rise Of Artemsia, the movie finally (?) has settled on 300: Rise Of An Empire as its title.
Don't expect this 300 to take in much at the movie box office what with its D-list, at best, talent.
Warner Bros deleted 300: Rise Of An Empire from its original, August 2, 2013 release spot.

The Division Game

It's been about a month since we last heard more information on what The Division will be bringing to the Xbox One and PS4 when it hits later this year, but with new info released by Ubisoft Massive, we've got a load of new details to drop.

The development team talked about how much military involvement they have had and did mention the fact that they had team members go through actual survival training.
"Ubisoft has a long history of working with experts and consultants. For The Division, we have consulted with ex-CIA agents, the military, survivalists, doctors, as well as experts in this kind of scenario.

"We are also lucky to have in our teams, people who have experience on these matters, which is valuable for this game. Some team members have participated in survival training to develop first-hand experience of living without the things we all take for granted like food or water," Massive said.

Next up, the development team talked about the game's "single player mode" as well as how the co-op experience will work, relative to the PvP aspects of the game.
"The game is built around seamless online integration. Going from playing alone, to playing in a group, to playing PvP will all be handled with very little or no interruption.
"In the game you will be able to team up with a group of friends in co-op and jump in and jump out at any time. In certain areas, you can also seamlessly engage in PvP and experience dangerous, suspenseful scenarios; but you will be able to play as a group without being exposed to PvP," Massive said.
The city of New York City is largely going to be exactly recreated in The Division, but Ubisoft did say that they will be taking certain liberties with parts of the city.
"We’re creating what we believe is going to be the largest and most detailed New York City ever seen in a video game and we want the player to feel like they are actually exploring the city with all its landmarks, street names and atmosphere.

"We took a few creative liberties, but you’ll definitely feel you are at the heart of a chaotic New York City. In this massive open-world game, we want to give the player as much opportunity as possible to explore and live their own adventure. With the power of our engine, Snowdrop, we can take this very far," Massive said.
Finally, when taking about how long the game's playthrough will be, Ubisoft said the game's hours are limitless and then went on to describe how exactly The Division is a next-gen experience.
"The Division provides potentially limitless hours of gameplay focusing on exploration, looting, crafting, player progression, customization, social features and more. This game is a whole new universe for players to immerse themselves in, and meet new people.
"Our goal is to create the best game possible, offer the players a truly immersive game experience and make them feel like they are part of a real-life situation.
"The Snowdrop engine allows us to create a universe offering a wide variety of features, such as a reactive living-world system with complex AI, procedural destruction and dynamic global illumination.

"We are also able to integrate more objects than ever before in the environment in order to create a devastated New York City that looks both realistic and frightening," Massive said.

Asia cup Afridi boom boom and beat India one wicket

Two wickets inside three balls in the penultimate over and an inexplicable crossover made the task very difficult for Pakistan. The final over of the match began with Pakistan needing 10 runs for victory with just two wickets in hand and Shahid Afridi not on strike. Ravichandran Ashwin bowled Saeed Ajmal round his legs to take India closer to an unlikely victory. But all said and done, Pakistan were basically just a couple of big hits away.

And that was exactly what happened. Though Ashwin got Saeed Ajmal out bowled around his legs in the first ball, Afridi was back on strike in the third ball. Ashwin pushed the long-on and long off right to the ropes and also gave a real zip to his carrom balls but Afridi connected both the deliveries, though he failed to time them properly. Still, they sailed over long and wide long-off respectively. Game over. Incredibly, the straight boundaries were set only at 65 metres for this game.
Pakistan got themselves under enormous pressure during the chase, but 245 was never going to be a winning total on this pitch. Despite several stumbles, Pakistan finally made it, thanks to Afridi at the end and Mohammad Hafeez at the start. Afridi’s last big innings came eight months ago, on July 13 last year at Providence. On Sunday, he played a blinder, hitting 34 not out off 18 balls when things threatened to spiral out of control in the chase. “I’m very happy for Afridi. He copped so much criticism. But we always have faith in his ability. He’s a match-winner,” captain Misbah-ul-Haq said. Virat Kohli naturally looked very dejected after the match and rued the “errors” which his team “kept on repeating”. But today, for a change, he was backed well by his bowlers.
Amit Mishra, who sat on the bench for an eternity, finally got a game and proved to be a good choice in spin-friendly conditions. An outstanding first spell of eight overs that went for just 16 runs and got him two wickets brought India back into the contest. Till his introduction in the 13th over, Pakistan were taking the game away from their arch-rivals. Mishra bagged opener Ahmed Shehzad with a straight one that pitched short but skidded off the surface.
Shehzad pulled it straight to Ashwin at short mid-wicket. Then Misbah was run out, thanks to a misunderstanding between him and Hafeez. Mishra had a fantastic pick-up at the bowling end and broke the stumps. The leggie also removed in-form Umar Akmal with a flighted delivery as Ravindra Jadeja took a very good running catch. Young Sohaib Maqsood steadied the ship with an 87-run fifth wicket partnership with Hafeez and made his team favourites again, but the latter departed after scoring 75 off 117 balls and Maqsood followed him — another misunderstanding, another run out. With 43 required off the last five overs, it came down to Afridi. Umar Gul dispatched Bhuvneshwar Kumar over deep mid-wicket but got out to the same bowler in the 49th over. Three balls later debutant Mohammad Talha crossed over as he got out, forgetting that it was the last delivery of Kumar’s over.
“Such things happen in cricket but that could really be a big miss for us. Thanks to the almighty we managed to pull this one through,” said Misbah.

Chelsea beat Fulham 3-1

A second-half hat-trick from Andre Schurrle saw Chelsea overcome any Champions League fatigue and cruise to a 3-1 win over struggling Fulham to extend their Premier League lead.

Thoughts the Blues might struggle at Craven Cottage, just over 48 hours after returning from the 1-1 draw with Galatasaray in Istanbul, looked possible in a flat first half, but the second 45 minutes proved a far different affair

It was the hosts who created the first chance, inside three minutes, as Pajtim Kasami put in a lovely cross from the left and Clint Dempsey - playing his last game for the club before returning to the Seattle Sounders - failed to get his glancing header on target.
Chelsea looked like a team that had been on a plane just over two days ago, struggling to find their rhythm, with a free-kick by Schurrle - from a fairly threatening position - that went straight into the Fulham fans behind the goal summing up their turgid start.
They created a chance on 15 minutes but only thanks to some comical goalkeeping from Maarten Stekelenburg, who allowed Fernando Torres to close him down from out of the shadows, block an attempted clearance and eventually make room for a shot the Dutchman did well to get back and save.

Fulham suffered a massive blow when Brede Hangeland had to go off with blurred vision a few minutes after a clash of heads with team-mate Kieran Richardson.
But Chelsea continued to struggle with the massed ranks of the much-maligned Cottagers defence, the desperation of a long-range Ramires shot well off target showing how tough they were finding it in the final third.
A foul by Ramires gave Kasami a chance to test Petr Cech with a free-kick from 30 yards, Fulham trying out a complex triple-dummy technique before the Swiss midfielder's low effort under the wall which was eventually comfortably dealt with.
Mourinho's men nearly grabbed what would have been a barely-deserved lead in first-half injury-time when Stekelenburg made the best save of the game at that point, tipping a vicious Torres shot over the bar.
But they did grab that vital advantage seven minutes into the second half when Eden Hazard's beautifully-flighted pass was ideal for Schurrle to run on to, and he outpaced substitute Dan Burn and slotted the ball under Stekelenburg.
It was so nearly 2-0 a few minutes later when Hazard came up with an audacious back-heeled flick cross that Torres headed into the back of Richardson and behind for a corner.
By now Fulham looked bereft of ideas going forward, Felix Magath bringing on Lewis Holtby to try and find a spark, but it was Chelsea who continued to press and they soon had their second

Again it was Schurrle with the composed finish, this time taking a lovely ball from Hazard and firing past Stekelenburg from 12 yards to all-but settle things with 25 minutes to play.
Schurrle had another effort deflected wide soon after but his hat-trick was completed on 69 minutes when Torres got the better of Burn and fed the German to complete his first treble since arriving in the Premier League last summer.
Fulham grabbed a goal back with 16 minutes remaining when a Holtby corner found Darren Bent at the far post, and his ball back across goal was converted by Johnny Heitinga, opening his account for the club.
Schurrle almost grabbed a fourth from another Hazard cross and there was little in the way of panic at the back from Chelsea in the closing minutes as they safely closed out their seventh away win of the season.
For Fulham things remain bleak, as they still look for a first Premier League win since New Year's Day and a first since Magath took over from the sacked Rene Meulensteen.

Alan Pardew Newcastle Manager Sent Off After Hitting Hull City Player

Despite his club's otherwise dominating performance over Hull City, Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew was sent off for head butting a player with less than 20 minutes remaining in the match in the Magpies 4-1 victory.
Midfielder David Meyler barged into Pardew as he tried to get the ball for a throw-in during the second half of Saturday's match at the KC Stadium.
Pardew squared up to Meyler and was seen to move his head in the direction of the player. Referee Kevin Friend then sent him to the stands. He was later fined £100,000 for his behaviour.
which Newcastle won 4-1, Pardew said it was a "heat of the moment thing" he "massively regrets".

"I think I'm going to sit down now because that's two or three incidents I've been involved in. I think I'm going to sit now.

"I didn't meant to do anything aggressive but I moved my head forward and that's enough."
Hull boss Steve Bruce said the club had accepted Pardew’s apology and wanted to move on from the incident.
"I think Alan knows he's been stupid and apologised.
"In the heat of the game we all do silly things and I think he regrets it. It's a game of football with emotions."

At least one bookmaker has suspended betting on the next Premier League manager to leave after the run-in.
Pardew has been involved in touchline clashes with three opposition managers in the last year, and was given a two-game ban for pushing an assistant referee in 2012.
Later that year he signed an eight-year contract extension up until 2020.
